I watch the most intriguing, uplifting movie last night.
It was a fashion documentary called Bill Cunningham New York. I have somehow never heard his name before, nor seen his work in the New York Times.
Bill has an amazing story, and I can't even talk about it, you just need to see it.
Check out the trailer here-
And view his NYT online pieces here- On The Street by Bill Cunningham

Fashion Week - Paris - 2011
Found out I had the opportunity to go to Fashion Week in Paris to the Thierry Mugler show.
I was thrilled.
16 hours before the flight I realized my passport was on my desk at my apartment in LA. I was in Chicago.
Courier service was over $1k. I then booked a flight to LA first thing in the AM. To go home. Get my passport. Turn around and fly to Paris for the show on Wednesday night.
At 6am I find out that the flights from LA to Paris are over $3k. So that's out of the question.
I give up.
I get a bbm from my friend who got all my credentials for backstage, and even got me a seat for the fashion show. I was so upset. He wouldn't let up. He found me a courier service that literally picked up my passport from my apartment. Got it on a flight. And it arrives at O'Hare at 3:40pm today. Insane.
I won't believe it until I am sitting on Air France at 5:30pm today.
Check out live tweeting at twitter.com/fashism for all my pictures from backstage, etc.!

Lace Up
Lace has always been one of my favorite trends, that I never viewed as going in and out of style.
Simple yet detailed. Feminine and chic.
But, I guess it is this Springs trend. Here are some of my favorite lace looks this year.

Alice + Olivia RTW Fall 2011
I have always been a fan of Alice + Olivia, due to their ultra feminine pieces and flirty colors.
And this year during Fashion Week, they haven't failed me.
Here are some of my favorites from the RTW Fall Collection.
