The Look For Less- Olivia Palermo
Just saw Olivia Palmero's Limelight spread and got extremely upset jealous inspired for some more 70's glam-ness.
I had to combat every "I WANT THAT" with an "I CAN DO THAT".
left: ADAM dress, similar styles ADAM; J. Mendel mink jacket, price upon requests at J.Mendel Boutiques or jmendel; L.A.M.B heels, $276.50, at Shopbop; A Peace Treaty ring, $110, at Shopbop Pamela Love necklace, $650, at PamelaLove
Instead of spending a buttload on some dresses, get the look above with the below dresses and pieces from Asos.com, and with a faux fur coat / vest and you're good to go.
right: Yigal Azrouel tunic top, similar styles Yigal Azrouel; J. Mendel skirt, $1,990, at J.Mendel Boutiques or jmendel; Vintage chain belt, similar styles FROCKNYC
left: ChloƩ bodysuit, stylist own; Vintage leather jacket, similar styles FROCKNYC; J.Mendel skirt, $1,990, at J.Mendel Boutiques or JMendel;Ring, stylist own.
Pleated skirts and dresses is the top trend this Summer. intsead of a $2,000 skirt (wtf who spends that), you can find a dress or skirt anywhere right now that will achieve the same 70's glam look. And I especially love the powder blue! Add a cropped jacket or fringe vest to add more to the look.
Halston dress, $1695, at NET-A-PORTER
I really love the sleeves on this Halston dress, so I think the key is to achieve the look is to keep the flowy, Seventies look in tact with the sleeves, chiffon, and length.
For a shorter version, maybe choose the below long sleeve pleated dress from Asos.
My favorite is the chiffon jumpsuit below from Asos. It's so summery and seventies I can't get over it.
Jen Kao dress and tank, $1,555 and $1,025, at 212-239-6515; Alberta Ferretti skirt, $1,395, at AlbertaFaretti
I'll pass on the $1,555 dress, and take this $128, cuter, Free People dress
On the left, Olivia is wearing a flowy, layered maxi dress.
Achieve this with one of the following dresses-
Add layering to the dress with this crochet top--
For Olivia's look on the right, pair this maxi skirt from Asos with the cropped jacket from TopShop--
Or add this cropped top to enhance either look. The key is layering!
