Tea Time

I can't function without caffeine in the morning. Yea. Same as everyone else in the world.

I'd have 2 cups of coffee right when I got to work in the morning.

It never made me feel good. Coffee would wake me up, but never left me feeling like a healthy person.

So, I decided to switch to drinking green tea.

mmmm...

I kept reading about metabolism.. and glowing skin... and cancer fighting agents... you know, the usual. Green tea is always the common factor in improving all of the above.

Research suggests that both types of tea contain protective compounds — like EGCG and theaflavins — that help prevent skin cancers and the breakdown of collagen, the cause of wrinkles.  It also contains antioxidants that help fight free radicals- thus- fighting cancer.

So, drink up!

Bill Cunningham New York - Documentary

I watch the most intriguing, uplifting movie last night.

It was a fashion documentary called Bill Cunningham New York.  I have somehow never heard his name before, nor seen his work in the New York Times.

Bill has an amazing story, and I can't even talk about it, you just need to see it.

Check out the trailer here-

Pour Some Honey On Me

I've recently been really in to skin care products.  This does not mean I'm buying up all the la Mer or Kate Sommerville products I can.

I'm completely satisfied with the products I've been using from CVS, along with a couple I've accumulated over the last couple months that people have given me.

I've also been turned on to all the home remedy skin care solutions people "live by".

I'm about to try the "Lemon Honey" Face Mask.

It consists of.... lemon. and honey.

Holla.

Mix a little of both in a bowl and rub it on your clean face.

Leave it on for 10-15 minutes, until it tighten and firms on your skin.

Then you wash it off with cold water.

Then your face looks refreshed and bright, like sunlight, hitting the morning dew.

The mixture helps fade facial discoloration, working together to fade age spots and freckles and brighten skin tone.  Ooo!

You can also add it to your green tea when your done, to boost your metabolism. No waste!

If you're not in to the DIY,,,, try these inexpensive products, because I use them and I said so.

Freemans Avocado + Oatmeal Mask. $3.99 @ CVS

Freemans Peel Off Cucumber Mask. $3.99 @ CVS

I love doing these masks on the weekends. They make my face feel super soft and clean.

If you want to feel a little better about yourself by spending more money and therefore the product should work better, I recommend the Become beauty products-
$49, Become.com

$29, Become.com

I use the Smoothing gel with my Clarisonic (when its charged..)

$63, Clarins, in department stores.

$59, Clarins, department stores.

Gotta love toner

I really do think that its more about staying consistent with using the products you choose, than which specific products you're using.  I can't say that I use all of these everyday, or even every week. But when I do use them at least 3 times a week, I ALWAYS notice a significant difference in the way my skin looks and feels.

So, there you have it. I recommend taking about 30-45min on a Saturday or Sunday morning and give yourself a FACIAL.

The Floral Code

Trying to decide if I can pull this off.....

Just sayin.

Winter Wear

Yea I call 60 degrees winter.  I have a white dress that looks exactly like this skirt below. I just pull the top down to my waist so its like a skirt, and then put a black longsleeve shirt on over it, or a black cardigan- turned backwards, so you get the boatneck look and scooped back.

I also really like this with a turtleneck.  I randomly found this image on Coco+Kelly today which is the exact same look. At least I'm doing something right.

I'm sorry Mike but someday you will be living in a princess wonderland apartment.

Oh, Crop.

Supposedly the new hot look for Spring / Summer is full skirts with crop tops.

I'm down, just don't know where I would be going that would be "crop top" acceptable.

Very Carrie Bradshaw.

Here are my thoughts.
