New Fleet Foxes!

OMGeeee! It's finally here!

Their self-titled debut album was Pitchfork's favorite album of 2008, and now Seattle harmonizers Fleet Foxes are back with album number two. On May 3 in the U.S., Sub Pop will release Helplessness Blues, the band's new 12-song LP. (Bella Union will release it May 2 in the UK.) Phil Ek, who produced the first album, co-produced and mixed this one. And down below, you can stream and download the album's title track.

This one is a long time coming. Frontman Robin Pecknold talked to Pitchfork about the new album's progress way back in December 2009; Pitchfork's interview is here.

In April, the band will head out on a North American tour, their first since August 2009. After that, they'll tour Europe. Here are the dates below.

Harem Pants

I've tried the harem pants look. People call me a pirate or MC Hammer.  None of which are good complements, not now, nor ever.

But I'm NOT GIVING UP. This is just way too cute.

Urban vs. Nasty Gal

I've definitely made the switch.  Urban has been letting me down this last year.  And in 2010 I discovered Shop Nasty Gal.  The online store that took Urban's place in cute hipster clothing.

URBAN.

NASTY GAL.

Denim Shirts

It's not just for the farm anymore or 1992.  Denim shirts are coming back, if you don't think they're back already.  I don't know if I'm going to be able to pull it off, but I know lots of my friends can!

Essential #1: Denim Shirt—The main ingredient to this easy-to-copy outfit is your fave denim button-up. Tucked into a pretty black skirt or worn with your favorite jean shorts this spring, you'll definitely be keeping it in heavy rotation.
Denim Button Up Top, $23, available at Forever21, 189 The Grove Drive (at Third Street); 323-934-0018.

Essential #2: Skater Skirt—We love a skirt with a strong A-line not just because it's great for our mild winters (pair it with tights if it gets too chilly out) but it's universally flattering. For extra styling points, try belting it.
Preen Line Jenny Stretch Skirt, $415, available at Forward by Revolve Clothing and NetAPorter.com, 8452 Melrose Avenue (at North Croft Avenue); 323-944-0311.

Essential #3: Ankle Boots—Finding the perfect ankle boots is tricky, so we did all the hard work for you. These hit at just the right spot on your leg, so they won't cut you off. And did we mention they go with everything in your closet?
Cooperative Suede Oxford, $68, available at Urban Outfitters, 1520 North Cahuenga Boulevard, (between West Sunset Boulevard and Selma Avenue); 323-465-1893.

Essential #4: Printed Scarf—We recommend a bold pattern and an extra-large scarf if you want to mimic this masterful mix. Don't be afraid to say "yes, please" to a brightly colored wrap in silk.
Marc by Marc Jacobs Scarf, $180, available at Barneys, 9600 Wilshire Boulevard (between S. Rodeo and S. El Camino Drive); 310-275-4211.

Essential #5: Flushed Blush—Keep 'em guessing if you and your honey got busy in the car on the way over with a pretty flush of blush on your cheeks. We love this product, and you can use it on your lips, too.
Benefit PosieTint, $28, available at Sephora, 10250 Santa Monica Boulevard (at Century Park East); 310-843-0123.

Turbans

Yes.  Only if your hair is showing.  Otherwise you look like you just got out of the shower.
